Accessibility plan
Our Accessibility Plan includes initiatives to improve accessibility in the built environment; teaching, learning, and research; goods and services; information and communication; transportation; and employment. We are committed to the work required to achieve this goal for our community.
Student accessibility
The Student Accessibility Centre (Halifax) and the Student Success Centre (Truro) are AV整氈窒s centres of expertise on student access, inclusion, and accommodation support.
Accessible employment
Within AV整氈窒s Human Resources, a dedicated Accessible Employment team administers theUniversitys Employment Accommodation Policyto provide a workplace that supports full participation and engagement.
Accessible Employment also administers provisions of the Universitys sick leave benefits, which include short-term sick leave for illness/injury, long-term disability benefits, and return to work planning, as well as education and outreach to the broad AV整氈窒 community.
AV整氈窒 accessibility feedback process
AV整氈窒 welcomes your feedback regarding any barriers you have experienced with us, feedback on the AV整氈窒 Accessibility Plan, or feedback on the Accessibility Progress Report in 2023-2024.
The co-chairs of the Accessibility Advisory Committee are responsible for addressing accessibility feedback. Feedback can be provided by email or mail. AV整氈窒 will acknowledge the accessibility feedback received, other than feedback provided anonymously. If contact information is shared, AV整氈窒 may follow up with you. Any personal information you provide will remain confidential and will be managed following privacy laws. This information will only be shared per these laws or with your consent.
