2019 SAIL Student Leadership Awards

Student impact was celebrated during the 15th Annual SAIL Excellence in Student Leadership Awards in April.    With over 70 nominations in 12 categories from Environmental Leadership to Student Government, these awards recognize students who have excelled in leadership and have demonstrated commitment to their co-curricular activities, fellow students, staff and faculty and have shown outstanding pride in their work and campus.

Excellence in Student Leadership Student Ambassador Award - Lenka Wicha

The Student Ambassador Award recognizes a student who has made significant contributions to student life on the Agricultural Campus by unselfishly giving of themselves through involvement, achievement and leadership through representing and promoting AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Faculty of Agriculture at all times. Lenka Wicha, the 2019 recipient of this award, consistently demonstrates outstanding school pride in addition to providing excellent leadership in all that she does.

Lenka is a conscientious and high-achieving student, who demonstrates collegiality at all times and is is well-respected and well-liked by all her peers. Lenka has demonstrated consistent and involved leadership across campus extracurricular activities in a variety of different roles from

Co-Chair of WUSC, Peer Educator on Campus, Animal Science Representative - Student Representative Council, First Year Peer Advisor, Orientation Assistant and College Royal Co-Chair, to name a few. Lenka has also shown leadership and exceptional school pride and promotes this campus at all times through her extra-curriculars. This has included her involvement in the planning committees for DAL Lead Student Leadership Conference, and the East Coast Student Leadership Conference. At each of these conferences Lenka served as a Master of Ceremonies and also gave a presentation on Mental Health and Leadership. She has also been an important volunteer for events that include: Truro Farmer's Market, Take Back the Night, National Agriculture Day, and Ride for Refuge. Lenka is truly committed to improving student welfare on campus. Her commitments to leadership have recently been recognized by a successful run for President of the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Agricultural Students Association. She is an excellent ambassador of the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Faculty of Agriculture, and is most deserving of the recognition of the Student Ambassador Award.
