There were 108 smiling faces (under their masks of course) at College Royal 2021 last Friday, October 15th.
College Royal celebrates the long-standing tradition of agricultural showmanship while celebrating the unique culture of the campus.泭 Demonstrations include livestock handling skills, knowledge of agricultural plants and the ever-popular Farmers' Olympics - think hay bale rolling, feed sack racing and of course the famous milk chug.
The event is a testament to generations of students, dedicated to maintaining the culture of animal-husbandry and health, while continuing to improve public awareness of agricultural issues.
Co-Chairs Alesha Dennis, Olivia Bolt and Kaycee Ward organized the event and were pleased with the turnout.
It was so fun to be part of organizing these events this year, said Kaycee.泭 As a fourth-year student these are memories I will cherish forever. I want to thank the RAC staff and DASA for their continued support through everything
Olivia felt being a College Royal co-chair was a fun experience.泭 "The turn out this year was amazing and people seemed to have a really great time showing their animals.
Alesha had known for a long time that she wanted to plan College Royal.
I grew up going to exhibitions across Nova Scotia and in my first year I was so excited to participate in College Royal," explained Alesha.泭 In my first year I learned about what a huge tradition it is for students here at the AC and I was so grateful to be a part of it each year - especially this year. 泭The energy that floats through the barns the泭week leading into College Royal cant be found anywhere else. I made memories this year that will last a lifetime and would like to thank each and every person that was a part of its success this year.
