Brooke Edwards l Director
I graduated from AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ with my BA and MA in Social Anthropology.
I'm passionate about post-secondary student experience and success, and work to develop programs and initiatives that are directly informed by industry research, data collection, and student feedback. Ensuring that we are meeting current Engineering students' needs is our priority.
Having supported post-secondary students in different areas at AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ throughout my career, I have come to realize that everyone’s goals and priorities vary depending on life circumstances. I focus on providing support to students by meeting them where they are at, by creating safe space for all, and by implementing programming that aims to enhance student experience on Sexton Campus.
My goal is for all Engineering students to access the Centre in one way or another throughout their time at AV¾ãÀÖ²¿.
I will be returning to the MMSC in September 2025 and am happy to announce that Angie Lynch is the Interim Director of the MMSC until that time.

Angie Romano l Interim Director - June 2024 - September 2025
I am thrilled to serve as the Manager of the Melda Murray Student Centre during Brooke Edwards' leave. After completing a BSc. Biology at MSVU and a MREM at Dal, I dedicated myself to various roles in non-profit organizations. My experiences ranged from river restoration and urban farming to managing an environmental internship program and career advising with individuals facing employment barriers.
In 2022, I returned to Dal as a Student Development Coordinator in the Work Integrated Learning and Co-operative Education Office. I came to that role with unique lived experience, having completed my degrees as a neuro-divergent student-parent who had to balance a full course load with work and family; with that perspective, I understand that students all have individual and distinct challenges and strengths, and I’m passionate about meeting students where they’re at to support their post secondary journey.
Outside of work, you’re most likely to find me spending time with my family, outdoors running, hiking, and camping, or playing and coaching water polo.
