Diploma in Emergency Health Services Management

Our Diploma of Emergency Health Services Management is ten course program which can be taken over the course of one year, or through a range of more flexible options: many students will start with one or both of our three-course EHS Certificates and then progress to the Diploma at a later stage.

The Diploma provides current and future EHS leaders with the range of knowledge and skills required to effectively lead in a variety of Emergency and Disaster contexts.Ìý ÌýYou will explore emergency healthcare planning, finance, and the legal considerations pertaining to health, as well as management processes, human resources, ÌýEMS Systems Design, and the Principles of Community Based EMS.

Required Courses

The one-year program features both academic and results-oriented curriculum.Ìý Note, however, that almost all students take the Diploma part-time, with one or two classes per term.Ìý Students accepted into the DEHSM program take the following half credit classes:

Admissions

Applicants to the DEHSM must meetÌýAV¾ãÀÖ²¿'s undergraduate admisson requirements, and we also require further experience/university preparation - you may not apply directly from high school

  • Application deadline March 1st for September admission
  • November 15 for January start
  • March 15 for May start

  • A completed application form and fee
  • An official transcript of the record of academic work done
  • Mature students should include a letter indicating  activities since leaving high school and reasons for expecting to successfully complete the DEHSM if  admitted
  • One letter of reference (academic or professional)
  • Resume/curriculum vitae
  • English Language Proficiency for International Students.
