Future leaders in healthcare: Meet our PhD in Health students

Since 2015, Dal's聽PhD in Health聽program has educated leaders who have the vision and passion to implement fresh approaches and innovative ideas that will transform our healthcare system. PhD in Health students come from varied educational backgrounds, but look beyond the silos of individual professions to see opportunities to integrated, team-based solutions. It's the only program of its kind in Canada.

To mark Dal's 200th anniversary and invest in the future of our health care system, we created the聽聽Our goal is to continue to attract and retain the best and the brightest students to our PhD in Health program.

Our current PhD in Health students embody the values and goals of the program. With research interests spanning not only the spectrum of health, but also the globe, they are already making a difference. For example,聽Justine Dol鈥檚 project 鈥淓ssential Coaching for Every Mother鈥聽is empowering mothers in Tanzania to help their newborns thrive ; Emily Drake is helping young adults living with cancer; and Matthew Baker is working improve the lives of those who suffer from osteoarthritis.

As the program prepares to welcome 15 new students, we talked to some current students about what the program means to them, and how it's impacted their research.
