Get engaged, get involved, make a difference
We likely won’t be greeted by crisp, fall weather this week as we settle into a new school year but there is that same buzz of excitement as we welcome new and returning students to campus.
In this, our first monthly newsletter of the school year, you’ll find news and information that captures just a bit of what’s going on in the Faculty of Health — and there is so much going on!
A cross-Faculty team is busy pulling the final details together for our Healthy Living, Healthy Life Conference & Shaun T Community Workout, taking place from September 19 - 22 at the Halifax Convention Centre. You’ll find out more about the collaborative and innovative conference in this edition, and you can also check out the website to register for the conference, get tickets to the outstanding speaker events or volunteer.Â
Speaking of volunteering, whether you’re a new or returning student, there are many other ways to get involved with your School or unit, or with AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ — the university has over 350 student clubs and societies. Check out the for more information.
Students, faculty and staff can also show their Faculty and Dal spirit by joining your School team for our 5th annual Health Fun Run Challenge, taking place during Homecoming on Sept. 29. All of our Schools will be competing to win $500 and bragging rights — see the article for more details.
This is the first in our monthly newsletters for the school year, and we want to hear from you! Our communications team is interested in telling your stories to the Dal and broader community, so let us know if there’s any exciting research, events or happenings in your School or unit.Â
