Dr. Tomblin Murphy began her tenure at AV¾ãÀÖ²¿, in 1991, in the School of Nursing. During the past 25 years, she has served as teacher and mentor to students and faculty alike. Dr. Tomblin Murphy has shown a steadfast dedication to improving the educational and research environment through her administrative service to the School, Faculty and broader University.
She has led the efforts for Senate approval for the Centre for Transformative Nursing and Health Research in the School, has served on many university committees and is currently serving her third term on the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Board of Governors.
In addition to this academic service, she has brought strong leadership to her own research programs, leading teams at the local, regional, national and international levels. Her international work led to the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ School of Nursing being designated as a WHO/PAHO Collaborating Centre on Health Workforce Planning and Research.
Dr. Tomblin Murphy is an internationally recognized leader and continues to be a great ambassador for AV¾ãÀÖ²¿, both here at home and globally.
