Volunteer Opportunities

Dr. Lori Week
conducts research in various aspects of care and support for older adults and their caregivers. Currently, there are a few studies that undergraduate or graduate students could become involved with. One study focuses on supporting women in midlife and older who are experiencing intimate partner violence. One or more students could become involved with this research through participating in research team meetings, learning how a randomized control trial is conducted, and/or helping to developing manuscripts for publication. A second study focuses on cohousing for older adults, an innovative form of an intentional housing community that features mutual support as an essential element. One or more students could become involved with this research through participating in research team meetings, helping to complete a scoping review of published research, and helping to develop a research grant proposal. The amount of time students need to contribute can vary, but this could be approximately 1-2 hours/week. If you are interested, please email Dr. Weeks directly at lori.weeks@dal.ca.
