Raoul Leger Memorial Humanitarian Award
Purpose:
To provide recognition to a graduating student in either the BSW or MSW program at the School of Social Work. Raoul Leger was a Master of Social Work graduate of the School of Social Work who was murdered in Guatemala in 1981 while working as a lay brother with a Montreal based Catholic order.
Conditions:
Preference will be given to an Acadian student. The student will be seen to exemplify a commitment to issues of development of peace and social justice. The work can be in academic endeavours, volunteer commitments, field placements or previous work history in combination with a continued involvement in critical issues.
