AV¾ãÀÖ²¿â€™s Marine Affairs Program (MAP) is a unique cross-Faculty program that harnesses the university’s breadth and depth of ocean-related expertise to offer Canada’s only English-speaking Master of Marine Management degree and opportunities for interdisciplinary doctoral studies. Through this program, AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ produces highly skilled marine managers capable of brokering knowledge among diverse disciplines, thereby advancing sustainable ocean use and healthy coastal environments.
As a reflection of its cross-cutting, interdisciplinary nature, MAP has moved organizationally among the different Faculties since its creation some 26 years ago. While MAP is now moving to the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Management has played and will continue to play a key role in MAP’s success, particularly in the area of enhancing the knowledge needed to strengthen the science/management/policy interface.
