On May 24, the Faculty of Management presented its annual awards to faculty and staff members to recognize their contributions over the past year. 泭
Three professors received the prestigious Faculty of Management Teaching Excellence award: Ed Ng, Jim Power and Paul Brown. The award is presented to faculty members who score among the highest in student evaluations and successfully apply to the FoM selection committee.
Ed Ng received top honours for the award. Known as an excellent lecturer and renowned for his research, Ed received this years Tenured Researcher of the Year award. He has an innovative teaching style and often includes his own research in his lectures. Students are very appreciative of Eds charisma and the unique manner in which he leads his class. | |
Jim Power has garnered numerous teaching awards over his career. He has the rare ability to engage every student that takes one of the many classes he teaches. His calm, cool demeanour has helped him earn his place as a favourite among the students. He knows every students name within the first few classes of the semester and will go to extra lengths to address their concerns. | |
In addition to his Teaching Excellence award, Paul Brown received a Lifetime Achievement award. He is known not only for educating students, but for educating faculty members as well. Paul has devoted his life to teaching and describes it as a calling; he sees every class as being a new opportunity to make a difference in a students life. |
