AV整氈窒 has concluded a collective agreement with the Nova Scotia Union of Public Employees (NSUPE).
NSUPE represents custodial, trades, security, grounds, trucking and mailroom staff. The 312 members are employed primarily in Facilities Management.
This is a first contract with NSUPE as bargaining agent for this group of employees, who were formerly represented by IUOE, says Heather Williamson, director of Employee Relations at Dal. She is also the university's representative inthe collective bargaining process.
The agreement provides for a one per cent increase in wage rates effective July 1, 2010, with retroactive increases of three percent effective July 1, 2008 and three percent effective July 1, 2009. The contract expires on June 30, 2011.

We are looking forward to taking this to the universitys Board of Governors for ratification, says Katherine Sheehan, assistant vice-president, Human Resources.
