After the past weekends games, the AV整氈窒 womens volleyball team has increased its winning streak to nine games in a row and are solidly sitting in the No. 1 spot in the AUS. The team's streak began on November 1 following the AUS-RSEQ Interlock, and the Tigers havent given up a single set since November 24.

The success of the team is outstanding, but not surprising when considering the number of AV整氈窒 players that rank in the top five in the league in individual statistics.

At the net, 2012 AUS All-Star Louise Facca (Aurora, Ont.) and last years AUS Rookie of the Year Maggie Li (Beijing, China) lead the way.

Sparking the attack for the Tigers is fifth-year Facca, who is fourth in the AUS for kills (131), kills per set (2.91), and points per set (3.6).

At 61 Li has been successful in shutting down the opponents attack. She is currently fourth in total blocks (52) and is third in points (179.5).

Fourth-year setter Hilary Sears (Bible Hill, N.S.) is fourth in total assists (362), while averaging 8.23 assists per set ranks her No. 2 in the league.

Defensively, fourth-year transfer Tarah-Lynn Truant (Red Deer, Alta.) has been solid, averaging 3.87 digs per set (3rd in the AUS).

The Tigers started off the year in the ninth spot of the CIS Top Ten, but with a season full of wins theyve climbed their way to fourth in Canada.

With five games remaining in the AUS regular season including matches against AUS second-place Moncton and perennial volleyball rival Saint Marys (ranked third in the region), the Tigers are not ready to let up anytime soon.
