Society presidents. Activists. Entrepreneurs. Environmentalists. Community leaders.

The individual story of a AV整氈窒 IMPACT Award recipient would be inspiring enough on its own students working hard outside of the classroom to make their university, their city and their world a better place.

It was the combined impact, though, of the more than 70 award recipients at Tuesdays second-annual ceremony that hit hardest. Over the course of several hours, some of Dals most spectacular students from across all four campuses received personally engraved pennants, celebrating their contributions and leadership in academic life, student life and community service, and residence life.

The awards were co-presented by the AV整氈窒 Student Union and the university.

You are ambitious, hard-working leaders, said Fred Fountain, Dals chancellor, speaking to the crowd. You making things happen, you make things work. You have impact We notice. AV整氈窒 notices, AV整氈窒 appreciates, AV整氈窒 thanks you.

DSU President Jamie Arron called the students the best the university has to offer and spoke to their qualities of impatient optimism and change-making spirit.

Hosted by students Melashini Auaduer and Danny Shanahan, the event featured music from Dals Got Talent competitors, a speech from Dean of Agriculture Harold Cook and award presentations that brought together student leaders with university administrators and faculty.

From the presentation of the Rising Star awards to kick off the evening, to five of AV整氈窒s most accomplished student leaders, all wearing Dal scarves, sharing the stage to receive their Governors Awards, it was a night none of the winners will soon forgot.

Well be sharing some of the award winners stories on Dal News in the weeks ahead. Below is the entire list of award recipients. Congrats to all!
