(Halifax, N.S.) - AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 30, 2016.

Colleen Wilson, Cross Country

Fifth-year runner Colleen Wilson is this week’s G2 Female Athlete of the Week.

Colleen won the Subway AUS women’s cross country championship race this past Saturday in Antigonish.

She completed the course in a time of 21:29, finishing more than a full minute ahead of the next competitor. It was her second consecutive AUS championship title, making her only the third woman in AUS history to win back-to-back titles.

She led the Tigers to their fourth consecutive team championship and extended her winning streak to four wins in as many races this season.

A masters of oceanography student, Wilson is from Ancaster, O.N.

Will Russell, Cross Country

Fourth-year runner Will Russell is this week’s G2 Male Athlete of the Week.

Will came fourth at the Subway AUS men’s cross country championship race.

He had his best placing of the season, posting a time of 32:48 on a very wet and muddy course. His result helped lead the Tigers to a second-place team finish.

A native of Guelph, O.N, Russell is a chemistry student.
