This year, the university improved its scores in several key metrics including institutional income, research income, doctorates-awarded to academic-staff ratio, and industry income. Scores also went up in teaching reputation and research reputation.
Despite these improvements, Dal slipped in the rankings slightly from 251-300 to the 301-350 bracket. The change seems related to the growing pool of other universities competing in the ranking (there were 137 more universities included in this year's list) combined with a drop in the number of times Dal's published work was cited by scholars globally. A decline in the score for students to academic staff ratio also contributed.
