This past weekend, nine members of the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Agricultural Campus Judging team travelled to Guelph, Ontario for their third judging competition of the year. Two teams and one individual represented Dal AC at the 32nd Annual Canadian Intercollegiate Judging Competition (CIJC) with teams competing from Macdonald Campus (McGill University), Université Laval and University of Guelph.
The competition consisted of placing and giving reasons to ten classes and completing 4 quizzes throughout the day. The morning events were homemaking and crops related classes, consisting of Canola, Bread, Honey, Quilts and TMR as well as an Insect ID and Crops Quiz. During the afternoon competition, the teams competed in livestock classes which were Jersey Heifers (Dairy), Charolais Heifers (Beef), Saanen Dairy Goats, Meat Rabbits and Modena Pigeons as well as a Meat Cut ID and Animal Nutrition Quiz.
The competition ended with an evening banquet where Dal AC took top honours of the competition as well as winning multiple team and individual awards for the classes. The Dal AC Judging team had a successful year with Dal 2 remaining undefeated for the season!
