North and south bound vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be disrupted for two days with a street closure on Summer Street between College Street and University Avenue. This block of Summer Street will be closed from 7:00 AM, Saturday, March 21 until 11:00 PM, Sunday, March 22, in order to accommodate a crane to lift materials onto the roof of the Collaborative Health Education Building (CHEB), which is under construction at the corner of University Avenue and Summer Street.
Appropriate barriers, signage, and traffic control personnel will be in place to direct traffic to a detour route during the street closure. No Parking bags will be installed on Summer Street meters this evening, Friday, March 20. Any vehicles parked in the specified area after 7:00AM on Saturday, March 21, will be towed.
On Sunday and Monday, workers will be delivering materials to the CHEB site through the basement door. The LSRI underground parking garage will remain fully operational for building tenants during this time.
If weather does not permit this activity, work will be rescheduled for a later date. We apologize for any inconvenience that may result.
For any issues that may arise during the course of this work, please contact the on-site manager with Bird Construction, Victor Power at 902-818-2502.
