A proud member of the Halifax community, we’re once again pleased to participate in .
°¿²ÔÌýJune 6 and 7, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., AV¾ãÀÖ²¿â€™s Steele Ocean Sciences Building welcomes visitors of all ages to explore what happens in a world-class research university.
Learn more:
You’ll get an inside look of the Aquatron research lab, which uses seawater pumped from the Northwest Arm. You’ll also have an opportunity to get your hands wet in marine life touch tanks and ask talented science students and top researchers your questions about the world’s oceans. Our family-focused activities during Doors Open Halifax will include a few surprises for the kids—all in support of oceans education.
A LEED Silver candidate for environmental design, the building includes an electric car charging station, permeable pavement for stormwater control, passive lighting design, cycling support facilities, and other green features. The four-storey, 68,000-square-foot complex was designed by DRKR Architects Ltd.
With World Oceans Day (June 8, 2015) just around the corner, we hope you’ll include the Steele Ocean Science Building while exploring during Doors Open Halifax.
Parking
