PAY RATE: For both unionized and non-unionized (distance) positions, the pay scale will be in accordance with the CUPE 3912 Collective Agreement.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 3135.03 鈥淪ocial Work in Mental Health鈥. The class will be offered in the Summer term, from July-August 2016. For a full course description, please refer to the AV俱乐部 Undergraduate Calendar.

The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments. Distance courses are currently taught using an online learning management system (LMS) known Brightspace by D2L. Distance courses require on-line availability for consultation with students. In addition, the part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations for one-two months preceding course delivery.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background with extensive experience in social work (or related fields), as well as a critical knowledge of mental health systems, policies and practice, is required. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience, particularly with on-line teaching, is preferred. New part-time academics must be available to receive mandatory training for the LMS - either in person or online.
