POSITION: Part-Time Academic, MSW Program
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: School of Social Work/Campus
PAY RATE: In accordance with CUPE 3912 Collective Agreement, paid as a 0.5-credit course equivalent.
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will serve as the Faculty Field Advisor for: SLWK 6415.03 Sec 02, “Social Work Field Work Class”. The class will be offered in the Winter/Summer, from January-June 2017 (Seminars will take place Mondays 17:35-19:25, Mona Campbell, Rm 3111). The part-time academic position is responsible for guiding a series of seminars, liaising with student field placement agencies for a series of meetings, dealing with any issues that arise within the field placement, overseeing the completion of an academic presentation, and conferring of final grades. The part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations preceding course delivery.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background and extensive experience in social work or related fields is required. The successful incumbent is required to have solid knowledge of a variety of social work skills and the ability to impart these skills to students. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience, is preferred.
