What’s the score on Wickwire Field?
No one will know until mid-July after the field score clock was removed Thursday June 29. After years of soccer, lacrosse, football and more, the clock was laid to rest to make way for a new score clock scheduled to arrive in a few weeks. The new LED sign will use less electricity than the old incandescent lamps used in the original scoreboard.
In the meantime the existing support poles will be scraped and painted from a bucket truck parked between the sidewalk and the field on south street. The sidewalk will not be closed.
