Employment Opportunity: Registrar’s Office – Assistant Registrar – Academic and Enrolment Services
The Assistant Registrar – Academic and Enrolment Services coordinates the Registrar’s Office academic advising and retention activities. This involves extensive coordination with faculty members and administrative units at both King’s and AV¾ãÀÖ²¿. This role plans and supports front-line enrolment services for current and prospective students, including degree advising, registration assistance and coordination of all related administrative processes. In addition, this position oversees the planning and execution of current student academic events such as Matriculation, Encaenia, and Advising events.
Specific Duties/Accountabilities
The Assistant Registrar - Academic and Enrolment Services is responsible for the following:
• Advises current and prospective students on degree requirements, options, and regulations referring them to departmental advisors and other resources as needed.
• Provides detailed information and advising support on Journalism and Combined Honours programs.
• Develops new programming to support second year transition and student degree completion.
• Coordinates registration processes, procedures, instructs and supports students through the process.
• Coordinates academic success plans for students who've been academically dismissed, placed on probation, or who are at-risk; referring and coordinating supports with retention services.
• Oversees the editing and publication of the university calendar.
• Plans and executes the university Matriculation ceremony.
• Oversees the organization and evaluation of FYP Advising activities.
• Oversees the organization and evaluation of Life after King's (events and resources to assist potential graduates with the transition from King's to the work force or graduate school).
• Confirms degree eligibility, prepares parchments and edits the degree portion of the program for the university Encaenia ceremony. Coordinates student participation in the ceremony.
• Creates and updates retention information resources for current students.
• Prepares reports and analysis of current student enrolments data and trends.
• Primary liaison with AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ to establish registration and enrolment processes and procedures for new programs, troubleshoot issues and ensure adherence with student information system requirements.
• Responsible for term assessments of academic eligibility, probation and dismissal.

The successful candidate will need:
• an undergraduate or graduate degree or equivalent experience. Masters degree would be an asset.
• Three to five years’ experience in the administration of academic programs or services; exposure and knowledge of academic and governance structures within a university environment.
• Experience in Registrar’s Office, academic advising, student success program planning, implementation and evaluation an asset.
• Superb verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to deal with students needs and interests with empathy, an aptitude for dealing with the public, senior university officers and faculty, tact and discretion for handling sensitive, confidential and personal information
• proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver content in a timely manner;
• outstanding organizational ability;
• proven ability to collaborate with others and an understanding of inter-office responsibilities;

Salary Range: $43,383 to $54,488 (including group benefits)
