WORK ASSIGNMENT
To teach one section of CRWR 4000.06 Advanced Creative Writing: Poetry during the  2019-2020 academic year. The proposed teaching schedule is Mondays from 17:35-20:25. Admission requires successful completion of ENGL3098/CRWR 3010 Poetry I, and CRWR 3011 Poetry II. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering this poetry-writing seminar, including evaluation. The part-time academic should also be available for two hours per week for consultation with students. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should be published creative writers, with at least one book of poems to their credit. Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the post-secondary level is required for this position. Service as a university writer-in-residence will count as teaching experience.
All applications should include a curriculum vitae, two confidential letters of reference and evidence of teaching effectiveness. For each part-time academic the Chair will conduct an annual assessment of teaching performance, now required under the CUPE Collective Agreement. This assessment will be based on student ratings of instruction and may also include classroom observation, conducted either by the Chair or a representative from the Centre for Learning and Teaching with reasonable advance notice.
