POSITION: PART-TIME OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY INSTRUCTORS:

Fall: September-December 2019:

These positions will be responsible for tutoring groups of 10-12 students in the following courses:

OCCU 5001 Enabling Occupation 1: up to 6 positions, 60Ìýhours each

OCCU 6001 Enabling Occupation 3: up to 6 positions, 80 hours each

OCCU 6140 Neuroscience for Occupational Therapists, 1 position at 100 hours

Winter: January - April 2020:

These positions will be responsible for tutoring groups of 10-12 students in one of the following courses:

  • OCCU 5111 Fieldwork:Ìýup to 6 positions, 40Ìýhours each
  • OCCU 5004 Assessment and Analysis: up to 4 positions, 40Ìýhours each
  • OCCU 5005 Enabling Occupation 2: up to 6 positions, 60Ìýhours each
  • OCCU 5006 Wellness and Inclusion by Design & Technology: up to 4 positions, 40Ìýhours each

    PAY RATE: According to the CUPE Collective Agreement

    WORK ASSIGNMENT: Under the guidance of the Course Professor and a Lab Coordinator, each Instructor will tutor and evaluate groups of students using problem and case-based learning in Occupational Therapy Skills Labs.ÌýÌýTutors may be required to attend on-site special events labs or exams on alternative days with advanced notice. Off-site preparation, marking and/or office hours for some courses may also be required. Instructors are required to attend orientation sessions prior to the academic term (to be scheduled). As time permits, other duties may be required to assist with lab preparation and/or delivery.

    REQUIREMENTS:ÌýOCCU 6140 Neuroscience for Occupational Therapists: Background and experience in neuroscience is essential. A graduate degree in occupational therapy or physiotherapy is an asset.

    All other positions: excellent communication and organizational skills; preference given to applicants with a minimum of two years practice experience and scheduling flexibility. Experience with student teaching/supervision and knowledge/familiarity with educative distance technologies will be an asset. Good computer skills and use of the internet required for literature searches and course support. Minimum of BSc(OT). Graduate degree is an asset.ÌýCurrent registration as a licensed occupational therapist required.
