​Department Chair – Dental Clinical Sciences
The Faculty of Dentistry, AV¾ãÀÖ²¿, is seeking applications from qualified applicants already holding career stream positions within Dentistry for the position of Department Chair of Dental Clinical Sciences. The position will be a five-year term.
The Department Chair is a senior administrator responsible to the Dean for the direction, management, and operation of department activities. The Chair is the representative and advocate of the members of the department to the faculty, the university and external constituencies. The Chair is a team builder and should provide vision and leadership to all members of the department.
As an academic administrator, the Department Chair is required to review and recommend appointments, promotion, award of tenure, renewal of contracts, and requests for faculty leave; plan and evaluate departmental teaching, research, and service activities; coordinate curriculum; maintain department budget and recruitment; and supervise administrative support and coordinate department activities.
Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience with administrative tasks, leading and motivating teams, and engaging stakeholders.
