1. POSITION:ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Marker (up to maximum 45 hours)
ÌýÌýÌý ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý HSCE 1010.03: Clinical Skills for Health Sciences—Winter 2020Ìý
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý (January 6-April 24, 2020)
COURSE DESCRIPTION:Ìý HSCE1010.03 is designed to provide learners with the opportunity to develop and enhance their critical reading, writing, and thinking skills, against the backdrop of topics and issues relevant to clinical practice in their field of study within the health sciences (diagnostic medical ultrasound, nuclear medicine technology, radiological technology, and respiratory therapy). Students will further their understanding of working within a healthcare environment as they learn skills required to provide patient-centered care.Ìý
WORK ASSIGNMENT:Ìý The MARKER will grade the academic research paper component of HSCE 1010.Ìý Responsibilities include: regular meetings and e-mail communication with course faculty to review expectations for the term paper, grading the term paper, providing feedback for students, and submitting grades to course faculty.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: an undergraduate degree in one of the Health Professions, English, Literature, or Library Sciences; and an understanding of the evidence based decision-making process. Previous teaching experience is desirable.
2. POSITION:ÌýÌýÌýÌý Teaching Assistant (130 hours)
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý HSCE 2000.03: Healthcare Ethics –Winter 2020
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý (Jan 6 to April 24, 2020)
This
course is taught on line using On-line Web Learning (Brightspace).
Students taking this distance course mayÌýinclude post-diploma
students who are located throughout Canada.
WORK ASSIGNMENT:Ìý The Teaching Assistant for Health Care Ethics will be responsible for working with the course professor to ensure that the course runs efficiently.ÌýÌý Evaluation of student performance (marking) will be shared between the teaching assistant and the course professor.ÌýÌý The Teaching Assistant reports to the course professor.ÌýÌý Position is for 130 hours for the semester.ÌýÌýÌý This course is taught on-line.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Individuals interested in applying for this position should have outstanding organizational and communication skills, should work well with others and be self-motivated independent workers.Ìý The successful applicant will be familiar with current issues in health care ethics and have at least an undergraduate degree in a related area. Experience using Brightspace is an asset.
3. POSITION:Ìý Teaching Assistant (130 hours)
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Ìý HSCE 3000.03: Culture, Diversity & Health – Winter 2020
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý (Jan 6 to April 24, 2020)
This course is taught on line using On-line Web Learning (Brightspace). Students taking this distance course mayÌýinclude post-diploma students who are located throughout Canada.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Individuals interested in applying for this position should have outstanding organizational and communication skills, should work well with others and be self-motivated independent workers.Ìý The successful applicant will be familiar with and interested in current issues related to cultural competency and diversity in the Canadian health care context. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.Ìý Masters student is preferred but those with relevant undergraduate preparation and experience will be considered.
4. POSITION:Ìý Teaching Assistant (130 hours)
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý HSCE 4220.03: Critical Research Appraisal & Practices – W 2020
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý (Jan 6 to April 24, 2020)
WORK ASSIGNMENT:Ìý This course is taught on-line using the On-line Web Learning (OWL) learning management system, Brightspace. The Teaching Assistant will be responsible for working with the course professor to ensure that the course runs efficiently and effectively.Ìý Evaluation of student performance and participation on an ongoing basis will be expected of the TA in this role.Ìý The Teaching Assistant reports to the course professor.ÌýÌý
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Individuals interested in applying for this position should have outstanding organizational and communication skills, should work well with others and be self-motivated independent workers.ÌýÌý Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.Ìý Experience with Brightspace is an asset. Applicant should at minimum be enrolled in a Master's program.
