Teaching and Learning Grants

The Centre for Learning & Teaching offers a number of ²µ°ù²¹²Ô³Ù²õ​ to support areas such as scholarly development and inquiries realted to teaching and learning; conference funding; and adapting or creating Open Educational Resources.​

Change One Thing Challenge​
- The Change One Thing Challenge is an open invitation to the university teaching community to submit a description of a student engagement activity that has been developed as part of their current teaching practice, and that they believe has a positive impact on student learning. One grant of up to $1,000 is available.
Submission closes February 8.


K. Lynn Taylor Educational Conference Presentation Travel Grant​ - This grant will assist in funding costs incurred by faculty who have been accepted to give a scholarly presentation at an academic conference with a focus on teaching and learning in higher education, or a pedagogical session (focused on teaching and learning in higher education) at a discipline-based conference. Two (2) grants of up to $1,000 each are available.
Submission closes February 15.


Open Educational Resources (OER) Grant 2021 - The Centre for Learning & Teaching and the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Libraries have teamed up once again to offer another OER grant to a AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ faculty member who is planning to create or adapt an OER (open educational resource).​ Grants up to $5,000 may be awarded.
Submission closes March 8.


Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Grants - These grants will provide support for AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ educators who are interested in developing a project that studies, assesses, and/or evaluates the impact of a particular research question on students’ learning.
Submission closes April 26.


​Teaching and Learning Enhancement Grants​ - These grants will provide support for AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ educators who are interested in engaging in p​​rojects to enhance teaching and learning, through the design and development of new or alternative approaches to enhance student learning at the course, department or Faculty level.
