MARI 3604 – Field Aquaculture

POSTING DATE: April 6, 2023

POSITION: Demonstrator – 90 hours – One position

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Summer SEASIDE program, Biology Department

PAY RATE: as per CUPE agreement

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: April 27 – May 12, 2023

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Assist the instructor (Dr. Diego Ibarra) with the delivery of the summer class MARI 3604.03, Field Aquaculture. Course meets: April 27 – May 12, 2023. In-person duties include supervising students in the lab, on field trips, and on boats. Online duties include: mark quizzes and reports; help with Brightspace management (e.g. setting up quizzes, lab assignments, answering questions in Discussion Board, upload grades, etc.); help students; and help with other logistic and technical support.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Background in marine biology with experience in aquaculture, fisheries, fish & shellfish biology; preference will be given to candidates with previous experience as a TA, Marker or Demonstrator and previous experience with Brightspace. Background in aquaculture, fisheries, fish & shellfish biology marine biology is preferred. Valid CPR certification required (SEASIDE can compensate).
