AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Diversity Faculty Awards

The AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Diversity Faculty Awards (DDFA) is a recruitment initiative designed to increase the number of faculty members from underrepresented groups.

A strategic recruitment initiative

The AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Diversity Faculty Awards (DDFA) program is a recruitment initiative designed to increase the number of faculty members from historically underrepresented groups. The program was introduced in 2011 in partnership with the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Faculty Association and augmented through collective bargaining.  

The program supports and encourages diversity in faculty hiring by paying up to half of a faculty salary for three to five years from the Academic Initiatives Fund.

To date, AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ has welcomed 21 new faculty members through the DDFA initiative:
