Will the keynote be recorded for future access?

Yes, the keynote will be recorded. We will be sending a link to the video to conference registrants shortly after the conference concludes.

What should I bring?

Please bring your confirmation (either on your phone or printed). We also recommend you bring something to take notes with, and a water bottle.

Short-Term Parking

AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ is contracted with HotSpot for parking services. Individual license plates indicate whether or not you have paid for parking. This is called a VIRTUAL PERMIT.

You must download the HotSpot App on your smartphone. Learn how on this webpage

If you do not have a smart phone and cannot access the HotSpot App you can still use coins at a limited number of meters on the Halifax campuses.

The Westin Nova Scotian offers travelers a relaxing interlude as well as a central location to an array of restaurants, nightlife, and attractions. Located in the Halifax Seaport District. It is appoximatley a 30 minute walk to the conference venue or a 15 minute drive during rush hour.

How can I access the internet?

AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ offers 2 wireless network access options to campus visitors:

eduroam 

If you are visiting AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ from another -affiliated institution, you can use your own home institution’s wireless credentials to access AV¾ãÀÖ²¿â€™s eduroam wireless network.

  •  at your home institution first to confirm it works.
  • Contact your home institution for any help or support for setting up or accessing eduroam (no matter what institution you are visiting).
  • There is no guarantee that eduroam will provide the same access to resources as your home or other visited institution's wireless networks.

Guest accounts

If you are not affiliated with an eduroam institution, and you require wireless access during your stay, you can request they create a guest account by emailing clt@dal.ca. We can then provide you with a username and password to connect to AV¾ãÀÖ²¿â€™s wireless network.

Will there be refreshments available or available for purchase?

Light snacks, refreshments, and a lunch will be provided during the May 1, in-person event. The AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ Student Union Building next to the Rowe Management Building, has options for purchasing food.

Online Sessions

Time zones

Halifax is located in the Atlantic time zone. The May 2 (online) session page highlights the different Canadian time zones.

What platforms will be used?


Meetings in Teams include audio, video, and screen sharing. They're one of the key ways to collaborate in Teams. And you don't need to be a member of an organization (or even have a Teams account!) to join a Teams meeting.

Do I have to download any software in order to access the sessions?

No, you do not have to install any software to access the sessions, although downloading Microsoft teams may provide you with a higher quality experience. Information on accessing session platforms:

Do any of the conference platforms support captioning?

Closed captioning is available on all platforms. Please note that these captions are automatically generated, so may not be completely accurate.  If you require further accessibility, please contact clt@dal.ca.

How can I access the session live streams?

Links to each session will be provided on the schedule.

Who do I contact for technical help if I continue to have access problems after troubleshooting on my own?

Can I watch the online sessions on my phone or tablet computer?
