Queer涌aculty特taff Caucus (QFSC):

The QFSC is a group皋f2SLGBTQIA+ identified staff畝nd病aculty痂embers from AV整氈窒畝nd涔ings that皰romotes awareness皋f畝nd疾ducation around 2SLGBTQIA+ identities畝nd communities; engages in social justice activities that improve the working畝nd疹earning environments for queer病aculty畝nd盎taff;畝nd皰rovides support畝nd盎ocial opportunities for 2SLGBTQIA+ staff,病aculty,畝nd眩he broader communities. Join us at our booth to learn more about the QFSCabout ongoing projects, ways to get involved, upcoming social events,畝nd疹eadership opportunities.

Black涌aculty畝nd特taff Caucus:

The AV整氈窒 Black涌aculty畝nd特taff Caucus was formed by Dr. Afua Cooper after her arrival as the Johnston Chair in Black Canadian Studies in the summer皋f2011. The Mandate皋f眩he Black涌aculty& Staff Caucus is To serve as a voice for the concerns皋f眩he Black communities at AV整氈窒, particularly病aculty,畝nd盎taff, by bringing these concerns to the Board皋f涊overnors, the Senate, senior administration,畝nd皋thers as appropriate.

Accessible employment:

Accessible Employment provides education畝nd皋utreach to the AV整氈窒 Community to ensure employment at the University is accessible to all. We provide confidential support畝nd盍esources to employees. Our primary areas of responsibility include:

  • Administration of the Universitys Employment Accommodation Policy (AV整氈窒 has key frameworks in place to support the administration of accommodation requests畝nd皰rotect privacy).
  • Advancement of the Employment Standard under the NS Accessibility Act.
  • Administration of the Universitys short-term disability program, work injury leaves畝nd眩reatment plans, long term disability application support,畝nd盍eturn to work plans.
  • Employee wellness畝nd皋rganizational health, including health畝nd眨ell-being programing畝nd盎ervices.
  • Psychological safety including wellness checks,畝nd盎upporting employees in crisis.
