Language study requirements
Foreign or second language requirement in the certificate program
Learning a second language can help you not only communicate with a wider spectrum of people but it can also help you to understand the complexities and subtleties of language and how we communicate. This is an integral component of the certificate program and the Language requirement can be satisfied in one of three ways:
- Take a full credit (6 credit hours) in a foreign or second language at the 2000-level or higher. (Note: Classes must be taught in the foreign or second language.).
- Take a non-credit community-based course in Mi’kmaq or American Sign Language (advisor’s approval required).
- You are a native speaker of a language other than English and studying in English at AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ (advisor’s approval required).
