As the Global Education and Engagement Coordinator (GEEC), Grace works to coordinate international field courses and study abroad opportunities for AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ students, and connects with the AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ and Truro community to share the Dal AC International's work for its students and globally. Grace prepares students to succeed in their study abroad initiatives in a variety of areas of the world including Africa, Europe and Asia.
Prior to joining AV¾ãÀÖ²¿, Grace worked in the NGO world preparing and leading youth delegates and international UN conferences for the United Nations Association in Canada, as well as coordinating and orienting Canadian volunteers in Bolivia for Canada World Youth’s Eqwip Hubs Project.
Grace has a Masters degree in Interdisciplinary Health from Laurentian University, focused on global food sovereignty strategies and how those strategies might be applied in northern, rural, or remote Indigenous communities in Canada, which has informed some of her work assisting in course facilitation for food security focused field courses in Kenya at Dal AC. She has also received a post-graduate certificate in international development from Humber College as well as a Bachelors degree in Geography from Laurentian University. Her goal is to continue to develop the capacity of students to think globally and learn to operate in a professional manner internationally, and share with the community how they too can be internationally minded.
