Centres & Labs
Professors and students with the Department of Chemistry are supported by these research centres:
- 聽- The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Research Resource (NMR-3)聽supports NMR-related research. It houses five NMR spectrometers capable of studying both liquid and solid samples.
- Mass Spectrometry Laboratory - A range of mass spectrometry facilities are available (EI, ESI, APCI and APPI).聽 Researchers within and outside the Department can access mass spectrometry facilities through service provisions, and hands-on use is available in some cases.聽 High-resolution (accurate mass) EI and ESI services are available, as well as low-resolution facilities for other ionization modes.
- 聽- The Trace Analysis Research Centre (TARC), an internationally recognized centre for research in analytical chemistry, has been a part of the Department of Chemistry for over thirty years. Members of the Centre include the faculty and students interested in and involved with research and education in analytical chemistry. The purpose of the Centre is to promote advances in all aspects of the science of chemical measurement. To this end TARC has, over the years, sponsored international conferences in chemical analysis, participated in programs to develop centres of excellence in analytical chemistry in developing countries, promoted research in various aspects of chemical measurements, and developed modern materials and instrumentation for undergraduate education in analytical chemistry.
- The Department of Chemistry is also active in the Clean Technology Research Institute. The CTRI was established in June 2017 to advance clean technologies research at AV俱乐部.聽 We facilitate collaboration, promotion, and administration of clean tech research projects at AV俱乐部. Our current partner faculties are Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Architecture and Planning, and Management.
