Why Dal?
This department’s excellent track record of producing clinician-scientists and the opportunity to work with and learn from strong faculty researchers were both key factors in my decision to attend AV¾ãÀÖ²¿. I also chose AV¾ãÀÖ²¿ to have the opportunity to work with the FORBOW project, a study working to prevent severe mental illness in children at high familial risk for developing these disorders.
Research interests
I am interested in the prevention of severe mental illness (SMI) in children at high risk who have also experienced multiple traumas. I will be examining the influence of family high-risk status, resilience factors, and developmental timing on the relationship between the experience of multiple traumas and subsequent mental health.
